I draw so much more than gets posted here. I find DA really fiddly so the bulk of my art gets posted on Instagram and occasionally Tumblr.

So we're a few months into the degree now, and I'll tell you- it's not what I expected. All the teachers are march to their own drum regardless of the curriculum and no two teachers teach the same thing.
I feel like I might be getting the short end of the stick depending on what teacher chance drops on me.
This one teacher, he is driving me to my wits end (makes me question why I'm even bothering with a higher education).
In the first week he gave us a print-out with a theme and 5 subheadings on it,
"I want at least 10 large, finished drawings for this in 6 weeks"
and that is all we have done!!
We come to class for 3 HOURS a week, he looks briefly at the work we have done since our last class, says light and then just leaves it there. We have learnt NOTHING!!!
I mean, if this was a home assignment and we learnt other stuff in class, I could take that.
Maybe he doesn't want to stifle our creativity, I get that.
But this is a tertiary education. We have given up finding a job to come here and learn stuff which we may never earn a cent from. We aren't here to express ourselves, we're here to LEARN!!
TEACH US SOMETHING!!
The other classes had life models in, in the first week and I still don't know how to draw specific isolated emotions or perspective.
this is complete bullshit and I have this guy for another 2 months.
What a waste of an education (and 1000's in fees)

So this year, 3 years after finishing high school- I've finally got into University to study art! it has taken so long and lots of hard work and brick walls, but i've finally made it- and I am so excited. Classes start in March. I am looking forward to this so much!

It's been an age!

It's been so long since I posted anything to DA. Later on in the week I promise I am going to start again!
It's just that I had end of the last semester of my course to wrap up, and then there was christmas and I've just been enjoying my holidays.
But NOW I think, is a good time to be getting back to it all. I'm bored and in need of purpose.
As usually it will mostly just be sketches since I'm such a Luddite and find colouring by hand so tedious most of the time- but if we're both lucky, a bit of painting and other finished works might just find their way up here!
